We offer a convenient consumer level service to convert film movie footage, older format video footage from years ago, photographs, slides, and other recorded images and sound onto Digital video tape, digital disc, or other digital medium. The resulting digital video or images will be compatible with the typical home computer and home DVD players. Digital provides greater range of quality video editing and duplicating than was possible or affordably available in the past for those vintage 8mm and super8 home movies and outmoded VHS and Beta analog video footage. Digital video is significantly better than outmoded analog video tape pertinent to sustaining no loss of image and sound quality relevant to making a copy from a copy, from a copy. Digital video tape and discs have equivalent if not longer durability VHS video tape and film. Digital Video Disc is certainly more durable than film and video tape when in frequent viewing use as there is no mechanical wear on the disc during play of the video. Perhaps the best feature of DVD is the control functions, such as jumping from place to place, is infinitely faster and easier than with video tape or film footage. Since many people are replacing their standard VHS VCR with a DVD player and because all video will eventually be digital and because both film and older analog video tape are subject to decay and color fading, now rather than later (to late) is the better time to start transferring these recorded memories to DVD and digital video tape. We can also help you create a quality family history by consolidating, organizing and inputting your research into a powerful genealogy software program. We can then generate a slideshow onto a DVD where each frame of the slide show can show an image (with or without caption), an audio clip, a graphic ancestor chart, a video, or the contents of a text file.
